The dog must be in good physical condition. In the unlikely event said puppy is found to have a congenital or genetic defect that is life-threatening, a statement from 2 different licensed DVM's (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine) of Buyer's choosing confirming such an event and cause is required before any action will be taken by the Seller. The owner is responsible for all transportation costs to and from the Seller. If within one (1) year from the date of purchase from Seller, a dog is found and certified by two (2) duly licensed Veterinarian doctors to have congenital or hereditary disorders which adversely affect the health of the animal, and if the Seller is notified within two (2) business days of the veterinarian's determination, the Seller will provide a replacement puppy of equivalent value. Guarantee of Good Health

We hope that you will enjoy your puppy for years to come. We have taken steps to ensure that your new puppy is healthy. Your puppy has been selectively bred for excellent quality, health, soundness intelligence and good temperament.

If there is a congenital defect (not including hips which are genetic) within one year from birth, and it can be surgically corrected for less than the cost of a replacement, we will pay the cost of surgery (not the tests or doctors visits leading up to the surgery) up to the price you paid for your puppy. If it cannot be surgically corrected:

  • The dog must be humanely put to sleep, and a letter stating such must be received by us from your Vet. (understand the pup would not live anyway in a serious illness)
  • You must send us the dog's papers.
  • The dog must never have been used for breeding, and still be with its original owner.

After these qualifications have been met, you may choose a replacement pup (of equal quality) buyer pays shipping, from any of our litters subject to availability, paying the difference in price if you desire a more expensive puppy. No cash refunds are given. Our guarantee does not include poisoning, accidents or behavioral problems, as training philosophies and environments vary amongst individuals.

Hip Dysplasia Guarantee

In the unlikely event that a MyShiba.com puppy is suspected of being dysplastic in its first two years, this is the procedure to follow:

  • Notify us by Telephone or Letter.
  • Submit the x-ray to the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (www.offa.org), University of Missouri-Columbia MO 65210.
  • If the OFA finds the dog to be "Severely Dysplastic", then to qualify for a replacement:
  • The dysplastic dog must be put to sleep by your vet, and a letter from him/her must be sent to us stating that this has been done. The letter must also state that the animal has not been over fed for its height/structure and has received regular check-ups.
  • The papers for the dog must be sent to us and transferred to our name.
  • The dog must have been x-rayed for this condition before its second birthday, but not before 1.5 years. (sometimes an early x-ray will not portray accurate results during growth spurts).
  • The dog must never have been used for breeding, not be overweight, and must still be with its original owner.
  • No replacement will be given if the dog has been over exercised during their growth period (until 1.5 years), which is running with or "jumping" the dog excessively in play.

After these qualifications have been met, you may choose a replacement pup of equal quality from any of our litters, subject to availability paying the difference in price if you desire a more expensive puppy (as our prices do change occasionally). No cash refunds are given. No further or previous guarantees are implied either verbally, written or otherwise stated.

We recommend that you take your pup to your vet for a check-up within the first ten days after receiving the pup. We, as the seller have already supplied the first puppy shot and at least one worming to your pup (as noted in your health record which was given to you at time of purchase). We require you to keep your pup on a regular vaccination schedule and routine de-worming by a licensed vet.

As the seller, I certify that this dog/puppy is free from illness and defects, and does not appear clinically ill from parasitic infestations. All information provided is true to the best of my knowledge and belief.

I have read and understand the above guarantee and sales contract information regarding this puppy and agree to this document in full. This will also serve as your receipt on the balance owed on your puppy at time of pick up.
